I wanted to enquire about if a person takes a gold loan of 1 year and he decides that he doesn't want the gold  ornament kept with the bank for use can he approach to the bank and tell them to sell the item for auction and clear off the  loan . If so how it is to be done.

You can do it only after 1 year, alternation option is if any of your friends or relative interested in buying the gold ornament , sell the gold to them at best rate by paying the Loan amount. Because if you go for auction and clear off the loan, its a loss for you.
