Scientists at the University of California with a series of calculations based on modern astronomical data, as well as computer-based modulation specified age of our solar system. According to them, the solar system from the homogeneous gas-dust clouds began to take form, vaguely reminiscent of today, 4.568 billion years ago, and the process of active planet formation take 2 to 4 million years, after which the development has been slow.

The whole evolution of the system are divided into three main stages: the first of interstellar dust began to appear smaller fragments and rock formations, gradually absorbing the material and turning into large objects with a diameter up to several kilometers.

In the second phase of the solar system was formed about 20 large objects, which are comparable in size to Mars. In the third final stage of larger objects left on its orbit, and became smaller or their associates, or even at the stage of formation ran into them, thereby becoming the first even bigger.

According to scientists, the date of the second and third stages were studied quite well, but the first is a mystery. To solve this mystery, scientists have analyzed materials present in meteorites family carbonaceous chondrites - these meteorites are considered relics of the solar system and in some cases are one primitive material which has served as the basis. On the basis of radiocarbon dating at the University of California received data on the age of elements - 4.568 billion years, which is 1.17 million years older than the previous starting point for the formation of the solar system. Later, these data were compared with the results of computer models.
Whoa!!!!
Millions of year!! Wish Earth won't go on 2012 according to Mayan Calendar!
May be..Smile But i hope the recent cyclone's is alerting us tat end going to come...,
