Insulator Pollution in Transmission Lines
.
Electrical Power Systems are widespread & are increased at a faster rate. In order to fulfil the increasing demand of power, it is essential to improve the efficiency of their transmission lines.
.
In order to maintain the continuity of power supply, one of the major problem is the effect of pollution in the insulators of electric lines. Insulators fail when the pollutants that exist in the air settle on the surface of the insulators. Failure of insulators may lead to flashoufs which results in short circuits & burning of transmission lines.

The attachment contains information about types of pollution, its effects & remedies for reducing pollution.
