PART A - (10 x 2 = 20 marks)
1. Determine the B3ZS code for the data sequence 1101100101010.
2. Write the suitable application of bidirectional path switched ring with proper justification.
3. What is advantage of multistage switching over single stage switching?
4. Write the significance of hybrid circuit in digital switching.
5. Calculate the relative accuracy requirement of two independent clocks to maintain a mutual slip rate objective of one slip in 24 hrs, The frame rate of 8 KHz is to he considered.
6. List the sources of clock instability.
7. Signify the features of digital loop carrier system.
8. What is VDSL? Specify the upstream and downstream data rates.
9. Given the message switching, node experiences 4 arrivals per minute. Calculate the probability that eight or more arrivals occur in an arbitrarily chosen 30 sec interval.
10. Determine the GOS, if an exchange receives 2200 calls while it is designed to handle 2000 calls during the busy hour.
