ENIAC!! Sounds familiar?
Yep.its one of the first digital computer!
ENIAC stands for Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer.
ENIAC was invented by J.Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the university of Pennsylvania!

Now about Inventors:
J.Presper Eckert:
Born: April 9,1919
Died: Jube 3,1995 aged 76
He is an American electrical engineer and Computer engineer.
He presented the first computing course topics
Founded the first commercial company named the Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation

John Mauchly:
Born: August 30,1907
Died: January 8,1980
By 1932,he received Phd in Physics and he was introduced to newly developing field of Electronic Computers
In 1941 attended a training course taught by John Presper Eckert in electronics at the Moore School at University of Pennsylvania.

ENIAC:
Electrical Numerical Integrator And Calculator.
The American military funded the research since they needed to calculate the artillery firing tables for target accuracy.
At the Ballistics Research Laboratory the branch of military came to know about the research of John Mauchly and John Presper.
On 31 May 1943,the military commission on new computer begin.
Chief Consultant: John Mauchly
Chief Engineer: John Presper Eckert
The development of this computer was signed in June 5,1943 and work on Secret under the code name "Project PX" and it was completed in 14 Feb 1946.

ENIAC consists of 17,468 vacuum tubes along with 70,000 resistors,10,000capacitors, 1500 relays, 6000manual switches, 5Million soldered joints.
ENIAC covered 1800 sq.ft.and weighted 30tons...
In one sec ENIAC perform 5000 additons,357 multiplications and 38 divisions.
In 1948 Doctor John Von Neumann made some modification to ENIAC and had performed transfer operations concurrently.

In 1949, company launched the BINAC BINary Automatic that uses magnetic tap.
In 1950, the Remington Rand Corporation bought EMCC and changed the name as Univac Division of Remington Rand.
