5.8 is released.


Short for Practical Extraction and Reporting Language, Perl is an interpreted free and open source programming language first developed
by Larry Wall in 1987 that is similar to the C language. Perl is one of the
more commonly used languages in writing CGI scripts and programming for Internet and web
page applications.

MySpace is purchased by News corp for $508
Million
myspace.com wasFounded on July 2003, MySpace was
originally created Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe and today by has become one
of the most popular online communities that allow any user on the Internet to connect and share their journals,
pictures, and interests with their friends and millions of other people on the
Internet. Today, MySpace has become one of the most popular and most visited
sites on the Internet and has become a great place for people to meet and make
new friends.Because of its popularity, especially among younger kids and teens, MySpace and other
social networks have also become a popular location for online predators who
stalk out young kids. Parents should always be active with their children and
know what they are doing while online.


On July
18, 2005 MySpace was purchased by News Corp for
$508 Million
