ABOUT DGFASLI
Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), is a multi disciplinary technical arm of the Government of India under Ministry of Labour & Employment to assist the Ministry in formulating national policies on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and advise State Governments and factories on matters concerning safety, health & welfare of workers in factories & docks. DGFASLI carries out its functions through Central Labour Institute, Mumbai, four Regional Labour Institutes at Kanpur, Kolkata, Chennai, Faridabad and Inspectorates of Dock Safety at eleven major ports in the country.

About The Programme
In the present day competitive world, Industries would like to have more profit and higher productivity with good quality at low cost not only for their survival but for also their growth. Environment, Health and Safety for the working community should be ensured to protect them from accidents
and diseases that may be contacted during their employment.

To protect the workforce / operating personnel from accidents and diseases, every industry needs to establish an effective Environment, Health and Safety Management System. In view of this, Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University in association with Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India organizes a National conference on Environment, Health and
Safety in Industries (EHSI 2015). The prime objective of this conference is to inculcate the importance of clean Environment and Healthy and Safe working conditions, Environmental and Health Risks Assessment and its Management Aspects in Industries.
