In 1932,
Robert H. Dennard was born

Dennard was American electrical engineer and inventor.
Dynamic Random Access Memory, DRAM was invented by the Robert H. Dennard in 1968


In 1977
NASA Voyager 1 is launched into space.

This spacecraft is the farthest man-made object in space.



In 1985,
Gateway 2000 was founded.

This company was one of the first companies to sell personal computers directly to consumers. Starting out in Iowa, moving to South Dakota and eventually to California, Gateway has constantly reinvented itself to stay profitable.

In 1980:
IBM Stretch supercomputer is shutdown!

The last IBM 7030 also known as Stretch which is mainframe computer is decommissioned at Brigham Young University.
Stretch was result of an intensive R&D project started by IBM in 1955!
