ABOUT THE INSTITUTIONS
Velammal institute of technology is the outcome of the vision and initiative of our chairman Shri.M.V.Muthuramalingam, a pioneer in the field of education. The institution reflects the ideals of its founder and seeks to achieve excellence as academic institutions. The institution was established in the year 2008 by Velammal Educational Trust. The institution has been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It has also been accredited by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) a statutory body of U.G.C. The institutions offers five under graduate courses in Engineering and has state-of-the-art laboratories, a well stocked library and one of the best computing facilities. With an ideal teacher-taught ration, we strive for academic excellence through personalized attention. The mechanisms established to support and monitor the student's progress assure success and satisfaction. Since its inception Velammal Institute of Technology has achieved national standing in terms of academic performance, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and also in its growth and commitment to social service. The Institution consistently ranks first among all colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
Velammal Institute of Technology shapes its students' future by fostering a teamwork approach to instruction, encouraging interaction with faculty, providing access to high tech information, motivating them to develop new ideas and concepts, taking personal interest in students' career development and preparing them for success. Beyond the curriculum, the technical coursed like value added courses, NPTEL courses, Spoken tutorials, MOOC courses, virtual lab courses like BEC and soft skill development programs are also offered to students.
ICACT’18
Globalization today pervades almost every facet of human life thanks to the emergence of new technologies in computing and communications. At the same time, automation with its strong focus on providing fast and ready access plays a very crucial role in people’s lives, permeating in various fields based on the developments in computing and communications through entertainment, healthcare, database, e-governance and more. The International Conference on Automation and Computational Technologies (ICACT 2018) aims to pave a scientific platform to present, share and exchange the research results and experiences about different aspects in Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering as well as discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted with global experts. ICACT 2018 will be held at The Velammal Institute of Technology on the 17th of March, 2018. This initiative aids in establishing research and business relationships as well as enables to find international linkage for future collaborations.

Registration fee will be accepted in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “Velammal Institute of Technology” Payable at Chennai and should reach the Conference Convener on or before March 8,2018
JOURNAL PUBLICATION:
All accepted and registered papers of ICACT'18 can be published in reputed Journals, with further review and enhancement by the authors.
Authors can choose between publishing in the conference proceedings/journal.as per requirements.
Publishing in the Journal may invite additional fee based on the respective Journal Publication norms.
HOSTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodation will be provided in the College Hostel as per request
