 Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP)The Government of Tamil Nadu, through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, implements the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP) to provide self-employment opportunities for unemployed youth in the state.This programme offers financial assistance, subsidies, and training to help aspiring entrepreneurs start and sustain their businesses.
Objectives
  • To promote self-employment among unemployed youth.
  • To reduce unemployment rates by creating small-scale enterprises.
  • To support first-generation entrepreneurs with financial assistance and training.
  • To encourage businesses in manufacturing, service, and trade sectors.
Eligibility CriteriaApplicants must meet the following conditions:
  1. Age Limit:
    • 18 to 45 years (General category).
    • Relaxation in age for special categories:
      • BC / MBC / DNC: Up to 48 years.
      • SC / ST / Women / Differently-abled / Ex-servicemen: Up to 55 years.
  2. Educational Qualification: Minimum pass in 8th standard.
  3. Residency: Must be a resident of Tamil Nadu for at least 3 years.
  4. Family Income: The applicant’s family annual income should not exceed ₹5,00,000.
Financial Assistance & SubsidyThe scheme provides assistance to eligible applicants in the form of bank loans and government subsidy.
  • Maximum Project Cost: ₹15,00,000
  • Subsidy: 25% of project cost (Maximum ₹2,50,000)
  • Promoter’s Contribution: 10% (General category) / 5% (Special categories)
  • Loan Component: Remaining amount financed by banks
Training & Skill DevelopmentAll selected candidates must undergo Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDP) organized by the Department of Industries & Commerce.This training equips entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to run and manage their ventures effectively.
Eligible ActivitiesThe UYEGP scheme supports enterprises in the following sectors:
  1. Manufacturing Enterprises
  2. Service Enterprises
  3. Business / Trade Enterprises
Documents RequiredApplicants should upload scanned copies of the following documents (not exceeding 50 KB per file) during online application:
  1. Aadhaar Card
  2. Educational Qualification Certificate
  3. Proof of Residence (ration card/voter ID, etc.)
  4. Community Certificate
  5. Ex-servicemen / Differently-abled Certificate (if applicable)
  6. Passport-size Photograph
  7. Business Quotation / Project Report

  3. Fill in the application form with required details.
  4. Upload necessary documents.
