INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY:
               Dev Solar is a manufacturing company concentrated in manufacturing of solar power generating system established in 2011. In solar we are not stopped our business mere selling solar products. We are one of the leading solar system integrator and providing solar power solution to everyone who needs alternate power due to acute grid power shortage in our country. Our solar module manufacturing unit has the plant capacity to produce more than 10MW solar modules per year. We are enlisted by TEDA and MNRE for solar system Integration.

PRIME LESSON  LEARNT
SOLAR ENRGY GENERATION
The process consists of solar panel, Inverter and Transformers and synchronising setup. The solar power generation works on photovoltaic principle. When the sunrays falls on solar panel, it converted in to Dc electric energy. The DC energy will be converted with help of Inverter and synchronised to AC Line Grid.

SOLAR PANEL
The 1MW solar plants of M/s. Sree Dev Solar consist of 20 panels. Each panel generates 180 to 220 V Dc which is connected in parallel to share voltage. The Solar panel is made up of silicon. The panel is tilted with an angle to get maximum solar energy. The panel is covered with glass frame to prevent from dust and climate. The parallel connection of solar cells are connected through cable and connected to hub for the input to the control room.

CONTROL ROOM
The control room consist of Inverter panels with measuring equipments. There are 5 panels present in the contol. Each inverter range for 250 Watts. All will operate to achieve for 1 Mega watt. An Invertor is used to covert DC source from the solar panel to AC Voltage. When the generation is less automatically the invertor will turned off. The voltage frequency were monitored in the control room.

TRANSFORMERS
The transformer is used to convert lower voltage in to higher voltage. It Consist of various protective equipments. The stepped up voltage is connected to grid line of TNEB. For connecting grid, synchronising conditions should be satisfied. The conditions are voltage should be equal, Frequency should be equal and phase sequence should be maintained equal.

1. How many cells are connected together to get 250W power?
             60 cells are connected together to get 250W power.
2. What is the effect of solar cells connected together in parallel as well as series?
            Voltage is increases when connected to parallel and current are increases when connected to series.
3. How many cells are connected together with the series is called 1 string?
 27 cells are connected in series is called 1 string.
4. If we want increases the current what we can do?
             The thickness of the wire was increased.
5. How we can be fixed solar panel in solar power plant?
             We can fixed solar planel in  15° ( north-south pole ).
6. How much cost is 1 solar panel?
               Cost of 1 solar panel is rupees 13,000.
7. What is the work of inverter?
               It is used to convert DC current to AC current.
8. What are the various types of solar cells?
               Poly crystal cell
               Mono cell
               Thin layer cell   
9. What is mean by synchronized?
               Synchronized mean by frequency matching.
10. What are the different types of solar panel used?
                straight solar panel
                parabollic solar panel 

STUDENT’S OPINION:
                The students felt that the Industrial Visit helped them to relate the theoretical knowledge with the practical applications. They added that it was a chance to understand the practical difficulties encountered and the methods used to overcome those difficulties while implementing the theoretical aspects. 

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INDUSTRIAL VISIT:
Working of solar power plant was studied in detail.
help of the converter and transformer in solar power plant is studied.
The connection of solar cells in solar power plant is explained. 
Various types of solar power plant is knowed. 
Different types solar cells are studied.
Bus and Feeders were dealt in detail.
